Wanted to do something epic and upscale for a change... but then I gave up and did this instead. The fur was HILARIOUS to do. Most fun I've had since christmas '98. NOTICE THE RIPPLES AND THE QUIFFS, DAMMIT! It took ages, man. T_T
Anyway, a pic of Naruto/Kyuubi and Sasuke for my fellow narutards. (Sasuke's probably kacking his pants right about now.) I'll probably do a tutorial of this in the near fufture since I have so many early versions of it stored away.
EDIT: Tweaked the image a little. Fixed the major gaff I made with Kyuubi's teeth and corrected some of the shadows, as well as changed his eyes a little to make him look a little more pissed off.
And I should probably explain the concept behind the picture, both for those who aren't familiar with Naruto and those who are but still don't know what the hell this picture means:
When Naruto tries to stop Sasuke leaving Konoha at the end of part I, Sasuke asks 'Why' to which Naruto responds, "Because we're friends." Even so, Naruto is unable to save Sasuke from his curse and Sasuke runs away, severing their friendship.
This picture depicts a reversed situation where it is now Naruto falling prey to his own curse, and Sasuke is the one stepping up to stop Naruto's mad rampage to bring him home. Why?
Because despite what has happened between them, they're still friends.
wow, STUNNING image. i love the texture on the fur so much! and, the perspective on this and the long shadows are just amazing! wow. i am speechless. just, wow.
Man, I really like the feeling of this picture. I feel like anybody watching this scene take place would just be holding their breath, just waiting for a climax. Great work.

Sasuke's COAT! Wow. You make it look so natural and easy to draw that fabric flapping all over the place. 8O
Anyway, must echo the above comments. The composition is very stron and the picture looks great. There's a strange mix of highly stylized elements and very realistic elements that I'll bet is difficult to pull off, but, predictably, you really made it work for you here.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Just... Wow.
The sheer scale of this is incredible, to say nothing of the shadows and the way the seal on his belly seems to glow.
