Journey was awesome, and surprisingly deep. -Mild spoilers- I can see it as a metaphor for life; you learn to walk, fly, and talk, with no apparent objective except to venture forward to see the world. You experience the playfulness and freedom of youth with these vast deserts you surf through without a care, then the troubled times in dark caves where you can be knocked right off your feet if you're not careful. Then there's the golden years, where you use your knowledge and experiences to guide you out of the darkness, but soon you're reaching the end of your life in the snowy wastes of the final ascent. You can't fly anymore, it's getting harder to move, and the only thing you have left, maybe, is your companion. And is the ending about death? Enlightenment? Rebirth?
But mostly it's about who has the biggest scarf and the snazziest robes.
Suck on it, n00bs.
ps. Thanks to the player who very patiently showed me how to get them shiny white threads. You were a gentleman and a scholar.
To anyone wondering: I just read how to get the white robes! You have to find all the scarf upgrades in the game... But you don't have to do it in one gameplay Then you have to do some stuff with walking to three big scarfs around the place where you start.
I also found out that the white robe makes your scarf longer from the beginning, it also drains slower while while flying and regenerates when not flying
amazing art! My experience in journey was like yours....some guy/girl in a white cape came and helped me! we had a great time together! and before the end, he/she drew a heart in the purple sands....I never cried so much like this for a game...and for this wonderful companion!
I always thought the game was about some kind of Religion. Not sure why but seems like it to me. Your vision of it is pretty amazing. Oh and this perfectly represents my journey with my red-caped friend. 8P
